$

Autopage sold several 2-way aftermarket keyless remote start and alarm systems that used transceivers with FCC ID H5OTR07AM. As with most 2-way systems, both 2-way LCD remotes and 1-way companion keyfobs were provided with the system. The 2-way remotes with FCC ID H5OTR07AM have been discontinued by Autopage (now owned by Varad), but Remotes Unlimited still has replacement keyfobs available.

The 2-way remote we have available is our part 971-1971, which you can see at the link http://www.remotesunlimited.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=993

The 1-way companion keyfob is Remotes Unlimited part 075-6066, which you can see at the link http://www.remotesunlimited.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=39

These Autopage remotes are user programmable using the valet or override switch for the system.

2008-09 Cadillac SRX vehicles with both push-button start and remote start used a pair of 5-button remotes with FCC ID M3N5WY7777A. The original keyfobs came with Fob 1 and Fob 2 markings on them, but the remotes are interchangeable, so it does not matter which you buy. There are multiple GM part numbers for the two remotes. The most common are 20998281 (fob 1) and 20998282 (fob 2). You can view or order the part at the following link:
http://www.remotesunlimited.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=982

Cadillac SRX vehicles that use this remote are user programmable if the driver information center or odometer menu on a specific vehicle supports adding a new remote. If not, a scan tool is required for programming.

Factory Keyless Entry Remote Transmitters for 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe

$

2006 Hyundai Santa Fe SUVs had two different body styles. Each used a different factory keyless entry system, and the remote transmitters for the two systems are not compatible. While both keyfobs have three buttons, they look totally different.

2006 Santa Fe vehicles with the old (pre-2006) body style use a more rectangular-shaped remote with unlock, panic and lock buttons all on the front of the remote. This remote has FCC ID OSLOKA-240T and a Hyundai part number of 95411-2xxxx. See the old-body-style remote – Remotes Unlimited part 725-1725 – at this link.

2006 Santa Fe vehicles with the new body style use a chevron-shaped remote with lock and unlock buttons on the front and a panic button on the back. This remote has FCC ID PLNHM-T002 and a Hyundai part number of 95411-0Wxxx. See the new-body-style remote – Remotes Unlimited part 979-1979 – at this link.

Please note that these remotes are not interchangeable and that 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe vehicles require a scan tool to program the system to add a new remote.

Replacement “Smart Key” (Proximity) Remote Transmitters for 2014 MAZDA 3 Vehicles

The factory keyless entry system for 2014 Mazda 3 vehicles equipped with push-button start uses one of two “Smart Key” remotes. Both remotes have FCC ID WAZSKE13D01.

There is a 3-button remote with lock, unlock and panic buttons. This remote was used on 2014 Mazda 3 5-door vehicles and on 2013-2015 Mazda CX-5 SUVs. The current Mazda part number for this part is KDY3-67-5DY. The Remotes Unlimited part number is 084-6340. See the part at this link.

There also is a 4-button remote with lock, unlock, trunk and panic buttons. This remote was used on 2014 Mazda 3 4-door sedans. The current Mazda part number for this part is GJY9-67-5DY. The Remotes Unlimited part number is 084-6545. See the part at this link.

Both of these parts are sold without a blank emergency key and require dealership programming with a scan tool.

Toyota Dealer-Installed Keyless Entry System Remotes with FCC ID BAB237131-022

Toyota has been the largest user of dealer-installed keyless entry systems over the past twenty-five years. Many Toyota vehicles were imported into North America (or built here) with no factory keyless entry system installed. The importer or dealerships then added a port-installed or dealer-installed system to suit the preferences of US and Canadian consumers.

From 1990 through 2002, the most common Toyota dealer-installed keyless entry systems used remote transmitters with FCC ID BAB237131-022. There were two versions of these 2-button keyfobs that are nearly identical. One has a black case and black buttons. This is Remotes Unlimited part 162-1162. The other has a dark grey case and black buttons. This is Remotes Unlimited part 163-1163. The two remotes are not interchangeable.

See both parts at the following link: http://www.remotesunlimited.com/specify.php?search=1&type=fcc&search_fcc=BAB237131-022

Vehicles with model years of 1996 and earlier require part 162-1162. Vehicles with model years of 1999 and later that have a dealer-installed system using a remote with FCC BAB237131-022 almost certainly use part 163-1163. 1997 and 1998 model-year Toyotas with a dealer-installed system could have either system. For these, it is important to distinguish between the black-cased remote and the grey-cased keyfob.

Both of these remotes now have replacement remotes that look different than the old parts. All of the systems that use these parts are user programmable.

Replacement Factory Keyless Entry Remote Transmitter for 2001 Nissan Xterra

A site visitor wrote to ask us about replacing the remote transmitter for his 2001 Nissan Xterra.

The original keyfob used on this vehicle was an oval-shaped 3-button remote with FCC ID KBRASTU10. Nissan no longer produces this remote. The Remotes Unlimited part number for it is 501-1501. See an image of this discontinued remote at the following link:
http://www.remotesunlimited.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=549

The new Nissan keyless entry remote that works for 2001 Xterra vehicles has more of a rectangular or keystone shape. It has a different FCC ID – KBRASTU15 – but sends the same electronic signal as the old remote. Remotes Unlimited does sell a replacement keyfob that looks like and functions like this remote. It is our part 503-1503 with a retail price of $60.00. (The Nissan dealer list on both parts is over $100.) See Remotes Unlimited part 503-1503 at the following link:
http://www.remotesunlimited.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=551

Nissan and Infiniti vehicles with a factory keyless entry system that uses either the original KBRASTU10 keyfob or the KBRASTU15 newer-style remote are user-programmable, so you will be able to synchronize the new remote to your vehicle without going to a dealer. Programming instructions and free phone tech support are included with purchase.

Price Reduced on Replacement Keyless Entry Remote+Key for 2007-2011 Toyota Camry Sedans Without Keyed Ignition

Remotes Unlimited has lowered the price of the replacement keyhead (key plus remote) transmitter used on 2007-2011 Toyota Camry vehicles that did not have a push-button ignition. The new retail price is $99.00. Compare that to the Toyota dealership list price of $167.91.

This 4-button factory keyless entry remote is RUI part 869-1869. Toyota part numbers for the part are 89070-06231 and 89070-06232. See this remote at the following link:
http://www.remotesunlimited.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=893

Please note: Camry vehicles with push-button start use a different remote transmitter. Also, some Japan-built Camrys from the 2010-11 model years used a different keyhead remote. But RUI part 869-1869 is the correct part for all North American Camrys with a keyed ignition from 2007-09 and all US-built Camrys for the 2010-11 model years.

This part will have to be taken to a dealership or locksmith along with your Camry to get the key cut and to program the vehicle to accept the new remote transmitter.

Replacement Factory Keyless Entry Remote Transmitters (“Smart Keys”) for 2004-2009 Toyota Prius

Toyota Prius vehicles sold in North America for the 2004 through 2009 model years used one of two remote transmitters. Part 886-1886 with FCC ID MOZB21GT and a black Toyota logo on the back was used on vehicles with no passive entry. Part 917-1917 with FCC ID MOZB31EG and a chrome logo was used on vehicles with passive entry (“PEPS”). These two remotes are not interchangeable, so be sure you know which remote you need before making a purchase.

Both keyfobs are shown at the link below. As you can see, they are identical from the front.
http://www.remotesunlimited.com/index.php?vehMake=156&vehModel=PRIUS&vehYear=2005

The keyless entry system on 2004-2009 Toyota Prius vehicles requires a scan tool for programming to accept a new remote transmitter.

Replacing Cadillac Seat Memory Keyless Entry Remotes with FCC ID L2C0005T

$

0

GM installed both factory keyless entry and seat memory as standard features on many Cadillac vehicles beginning more than a decade ago. Some vehicles had systems that used remotes with FCC ID L2C0005T. These included 2004-2006 SRX vehicles and 2005-2007 CTS sedans. SRX crossover SUVs used either a 3-button remote with lock, unlock and panic buttons or a 4-button remote that also had a rear hatch button. The CTS sedans used a 4-button remote with a trunk icon. (Some non-Cadillac vehicles also use a 4-button remote with FCC ID L2C0005T on the back, but these vehicles did not offer seat memory.) See all of the remotes with FCC ID L2C0005T at the following link:
http://www.remotesunlimited.com/specify.php?search=1&type=fcc&search_fcc=L2C0005T

Because these Cadillac vehicles had seat memory, the remote keyfobs have either a number ’1′ or ’2′ on the back. This is purely a cosmetic feature so that one can easily tell which fob is for driver 1 and which for driver 2. The keyfobs are identical otherwise and the remotes can be used interchangeably. In practice, the first fob programmed is associated with driver position 1 and the second with driver position 2, regardless of what fob number is on the back of the remote.

All of these Cadillac vehicles require a “scan tool” device to place the vehicle in programming mode so that it will allow synchronization with a new keyfob. So, the vehicle and all remotes to be used with it must be taken to a dealership or automotive locksmith for programming.

The original remote for the Crimestopper RS 900-VI system was transmitter CS-409. This part has been discontinued by Crimestopper and we no longer have any stock. The correct Crimestopper replacement part for that transmitter is our part number 071-6552. Remotes Unlimited has this part in stock for a price of $44.00. You can see both parts and purchase the replacement part at the following link:
http://www.remotesunlimited.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=254

A new remote can be added to this system by a user programming process that requires a working valet switch with the system.

Replacement Proximity “Smart-Key” Remote Transmitters for 2011-13 Kia Forte Vehicles

$

0

2011-13 Kia Forte vehicles used two different proximity remotes, depending on whether the vehicle was a 2-dr coupe (“Koup”, in Kia parlance), 4-dr sedan or 5-dr wagon. The only difference between the remotes is the rear button icon. Both remotes have FCC ID SY5HMFNA04.

The 2-dr coupe and 4-dr sedan use Kia part number 95440-1M211, which has a trunk icon on the rear (third) button. See this part at the following link:
Kia part 95440-1M211

The 5-dr hatchback uses Kia part number 95440-1M220, which has a liftgate icon on the rear (third) button. See this part at the following link:
Kia part 95440-1M220

If you happen to have a 2011-13 Kia Forte sedan or coupe that does not have push-button start, the conventional remote keyfob for your vehicle is Kia part 95430-1M100 with FCC ID PINHA-T008. The link for this part is as follows:
Kia part 95430-1M100

All of these keyless entry remote transmitters require dealership programming with a scan tool.

Chrysler Dodge Jeep Keyless Entry Remote Keyfobs with FCC ID GQ43VT9T

$

0

From 1997 through 2004, a large number of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Plymouth vehicles were equipped with factory keyless entry systems that used remote transmitters with FCC ID GQ43VT9T. These included 2-button, 3-button and 4-button key fobs. Some had the Chrysler star logo, some a Ram logo, some the brand “JEEP” on the front, and many had no logo on them at all. See factory keyless entry remotes with FCC ID GQ43VT9T at the following link:
Remotes with FCC ID GQ43VT9T

Despite all having the FCC ID GQ43VT9T, these remotes are not all interchangeable. So, when buying a replacement remote for one of the vehicles that used a remote with this FCC ID, one needs to take care to buy the correct key fob. Most of these remotes have a Chrysler part number on the back. These part numbers are 8 digits, possibly followed by two letters. If you have an original remote and are not sure which replacement part you need, we recommend you use search method 3 in our Fob Finder (www.remotesunlimited.com) to be sure you specify the key fob correctly.

The keyless entry systems in many, but not all, vehicles that use a remote with FCC ID GQ43VT9T are user programmable if you already have a working remote for the vehicle. All other situations require programming with a computer “scan” tool by a dealer or locksmith.

Toyota Dealer-Installed Securikey +5 Remote Transmitter

Dating back to the late 1990s, Toyota offered an optional dealer-installed or port-installed remote start system for its vehicles. This system was made by Audiovox and branded “Securikey +5” on the front of the keyfob. The remote transmitter has FCC ID ELVAT8E on the back. It has 5 buttons — lock, unlock and an optional function button on the front plus remote start and panic on the back.

The remote is no longer made and may be hard to find. Remotes Unlimited offers a new Audiovox replacement remote that works for the Securikey +5 system. It is part 495-1495. See a listing for both parts at the following link:
Securikey +5 Listing

The Securikey +5 system is user programmable.

Replacement Remote Key Fobs Widely Available in Auto Parts Stores

For many years, the only place customers could buy a replacement automotive remote key fob or transmitter was at an authorized dealership or on-line.

Now auto parts stores have instituted programs to sell replacement car remotes.  For instance, Remotes Unlimited sells replacement parts through Pep Boys, who stock 12, and Advance Auto who stocks 8 of the fastest moving replacement parts. This makes it quick and easy to get a replacement remote if you have a Ford or GM vehicle, or a DEI or Audiovox aftermarket alarm system that uses one of the most common key fobs. These chains offer personalized customer service, and special order assistance, should you need a product that is not carried in the store.

Whether buying a part that the store has in stock or placing a special order, the most important information to pay attention to is the programming method.  Most replacement remotes are “user programmable”, meaning you will be able to program the system in your vehicle to accept the new remote.  If programming requires a “scan tool”, then the replacement remote and your vehicle will have to be taken to an authorized dealer.  Dealers usually charge 1/4 to 1/2 hour of labor for this service.

If you are buying a replacement remote supplied by Remotes Unlimited, the package will always have information about how your remote is programmed.  So, before buying, always read the package completely or ask store personnel how the replacement remote will be programmed for your vehicle.

If you purchase a product from one of your local stores and need further assistance with programming, Remotes Unlimited customer service line is available at 877-719-1900,  Monday – Friday 8am – 8pm and Saturday 9am – 3pm CST.

Most Common Reasons for Calling Tech Support When Programming Replacement Remote Entry Products

$
0
0

The most common reasons for calling tech support is for assistance programming a remote that was purchased.  The reasons people need help include:

1) Intimidated by the task of programming.

2) Unmotivated to read instructions.

3) Read instructions and tried programming, but not successful getting the vehicle into programming mode.

This usually means (a) problem with components in the car or (b) wrong instructions or (c) they are not performing the instructions correctly).  A common problem here is that programming is time sensitive and some people do not get the steps done quickly enough.

4) Tried programming, were successful in placing system in programming mode, but not able to complete part of the programming successfully.

This could mean a bad part or some other programming issue.

While it can be intimidating to read instructions for a product you may not have ever programmed before, they will help you understand the basic steps needed to be successful. Remote entry products sold by Remotes Unlimited come with simple instructions. If after you follow the steps included in your packaging, you are not able to program your remote entry product successfully, call our technical support line. All Remotes Unlimited customers have access to free technical support.

Replacement Factory Keyless Entry Remote Key Fob with FCC ID L2C0007T for 2004 Buick Rendezvous

$

A visitor to our site asked if we could send him a pre-programmed remote control keyfob for his 2004 Buick Rendezvous. Here is our response:

No one can send you a remote that is pre-programmed for the simple reason that programming is something one does to the receiver in the vehicle, not to the remote. However, the factory keyless entry systems installed on 2004 Rendezvous vehicles are user-programmable, so you will be able to complete the programming process without going to a dealer or locksmith.

The correct remote for your vehicle is our part 574-1574. Here is a link to see and order the part:
http://www.remotesunlimited.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=621

Programming instructions and free phone technical support are included with purchase.

Also, if you are looking for a lower cost part, we have both refurbished OE parts and good condition B-grade (used) parts available at a price well below the new-part price of $67.00. (Refurbished or used parts are what most of the other online sellers are shipping anyway, even if they do not tell you that.) We do not sell these on our website, so if you are interested, please call our call center at 877-719-1900. Select option 2 to get to our sales department, then ask if you can speak with Lawren or Joel. I am going to cc them on this email so they know about your situation. I do not know the precise pricing of our refurbished and B-grade parts buy I believe we may have B-grade available for about $25 and refurbished for $39 or so.

2004 Nissan Sentra Keyless Entry Remote Key Fob

$

We just answered an inquiry from an individual who bought a 2004 Nissan Sentra and was looking for a remote to use with that vehicle. Here is our response:

The correct factory keyless entry remote for a 2004 Sentra is Remotes Unlimited part 800-1800, shown at the following link:
2004 Nissan Sentra remote

However, not all 2004 Sentra sedans were equipped with factory keyless entry, so before you buy a replacement remote, you should confirm that there is a factory keyless entry system installed on the vehicle. You can call a Nissan dealer, give them your VIN, and they can tell you. Or, if you send us your VIN we can check for you.

Please note that there is a very common Nissan remote that looks exactly like the one you need and which is sold in many auto part stores. However, that part will not work on your 2004 Sentra.

If your vehicle does have factory keyless entry and you do buy a remote for it, you will be able to program the system yourself to accept the new remote. Remotes Unlimited provides free programming instructions and technical support with part purchase.

A reader contacted us to ask what remote key fob is needed for his 2001 Xterra. Our response follows:

The original factory keyless entry keyfob used on 2001 Xterra vehicles is a remote transmitter with Nissan part number 28268-7Z460 — Remotes Unlimited part 501-1501. This part has a dealer list price of $123.92. However, it can be replaced by a newer part that is much less expensive, so we offer the better-value transmitter. That is our part 503-1503, which sells for $60.00. It looks different but works just like the older remote. You can see both parts at the following link:
2001 Nissan Xterra Remote Keyfob

So, you would need to buy our part 503-1503. Nissan factory keyless entry systems that use this remote are user programmable. Programming instructions come with the part and you also receive free phone technical support.

Automotive Remote Key Fobs with FCC ID ELVATDC

$

A visitor sent us a question about keyless entry and alarm system remotes with FCC ID ELVATDC. There are two such remotes. One has a Red LED and the other, a keyfob used with Toyota dealer-installed or port-installed systems, has a Green LED. The two remotes are not interchangeable. They look almost entirely the same except for the color of the LED light.

For most remotes that have an LED on them, the light is just there to help you know that the battery is working and sending power to the circuit board. However, for some older remotes, the LED can be an important aspect of part specification because there can be two remotes that have the same FCC ID and look the same except for the LED color, and the color of the LED means they operate at different frequencies or transmit a different signal. This is the case with systems that use remotes with FCC ID ELVATDC. Original remotes with a Green LED are not interchangeable with those that have a Red LED.

Both of the original remotes with FCC ID ELVATDC have been discontinued but there is a replacement remote for each of them. The original remote with FCC ID ELVATDC and a Green LED is now substituted by a newer Toyota remote with FCC ID ELVATDD. The new part has RUI part number 092-6435. See both the old and new remotes at the following link:
Old Toyota dealer-installed remote with FCC ID ELVATDC and Green LED

The discontinued remote with FCC ID ELVATDC and a Red LED is replaced by an Audiovox/Code Alarm part that looks entirely different and has FCC ID ELVATDB. The new part has RUI part number 495-1495. See both the old and new remotes at the following link:

Replacement Factory Keyless Entry Remote for 1998 Jeep Cherokee

$

A site visitor recently asked us what the correct replacement factory keyless entry remote is for the 1998 Jeep Cherokee she recently bought from a used car dealer. The original remote for that vehicle is a Chrysler 2-button key fob with FCC ID GQ43VT10T. This remote transmitter is Remotes Unlimited part 342-1342. We also make a ReMoto brand replacement keyfob that is much less expensive. You can see both remotes at the following link:
1998 Jeep Cherokee remote key fob

The system in a 1998 Jeep Cherokee can be user-programmed to add an additional remote, but this requires that you already have one working remote for the vehicle; otherwise, the system must be programmed with a computer scan tool.
