The cool thing about replacing some Honda keyhead remotes is that the remote transmitter is user programmable if you have a working key. Also, it is easy to exchange one key blade for another, so if you have a cut key blade that works but your remote transmitter functions are not working, you can buy a replacement part online and avoid a trip to the dealership, where they will charge a service fee for programming (and for cutting the key). Note, however, that if the key has a transponder in it (often called an “immobilizer”), then it may be easier to let the dealer perform the programming.
